Garry Rogers Motorsport have confirmed James Golding and Garth Tander as their driver lineup for the 2018 Supercars season.
Tander will grid up for his ninth year in Supercars, while Golding will replace James Moffat in the #34.
After missing out on a full time drive this year, Golding, who’s been working as a mechanic within the Melbourne based operation, impressed in his co-driver role at the team during the Pirtek Enduro Cup alongside Tander.
“I’ve been working for this for a long time and to finally get it is a bit surreal to be honest,” Golding told Speedcafe.com.
“I think I’m as ready as I’m ever going to be to step up to Supercars.”
Team owner Garry Rogers is confident in the 21-year old’s ability and is looking forward to the 2018 season opener in Adelaide.
“I will be extremely proud to see ‘Bieber’ race in Adelaide in just over 3 months time,” said Rogers.
“I get an enormous amount of satisfaction watching and helping young people achieve something.
“With regards to ‘Bieber’ I have been watching him since his early teens in go-karts and as things progressed I offered him an apprenticeship a little over 4 years ago as a mechanic.
“‘Bieber’ has shown a great aptitude to the mechanical side of a race car and his day to day work ethic certainly illustrates to me that he is a very disciplined person.”
