Erebus Motorsport have confirmed Dale Wood will leave the team at the end of this season with Anton De Pasquale a hot candidate to take over his seat for next year.
Rumours also surround the possibility of Will Davison making a return to Erebus next season and taking Wood’s place, while De Pasquale completed a test for the team in August and remains diligent as an announcement looms next week.
Wood joined the Melbourne based squad at the start of this year alongside David Reynolds in Erebus’ second Holden Commodore, after spells at Brad Jones Racing and Nissan Motorsport.
However, the former Dunlop Super2 Champion will leave the team after the final round at Newcastle next month.
“Dale has been a great contribution towards our progress this year and we appreciate his efforts,” said Erebus General Manager Barry Ryan.
“With two rounds remaining, we will continue working together to achieve the best possible results for Dale and the team.
“We wish him all the best for the future.”
Wood is still expected to be a top pick for next year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup as a co-driver, considering he has three years worth of full time of experience.
The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship continues next weekend with the ITM Auckland Super Sprint.
